A double sided A5 Flyer Design to promote the opening of Utopia Wakefield.
Utopia were looking for an A5 flyer design to help advertise the opening of their new gymnasium, Utopia Wakefield. With the official launch date of the opening approaching, Utopia explained that they were keen to begin marketing the new site and announce details about the site location, facilities, and the new classes and services that will be available. They wanted us to create a stylish flyer design that they could distribute widely to announce the opening of Utopia Wakefield.
They wanted the flyer to present the Utopia logo prominently and to include a strong image of a young gymnast in action as the centrepiece of the flyer. They also wanted us to include relevant information about Utopia Wakefield, including the classes and services they offer, the opening hours, address and contact details. They wanted the A5 flyer design to be double-sided with a glossy finish. They expressed that they wanted a punchy and eye-catching branded design on the front side of the flyer to attract and engage their target audience.
They wanted the back side of the flyer to be used to present more details about the classes and facilities and to spark interest in and spread awareness of Utopia Wakefield. Utopia also wanted to offer a free taster session to encourage people to sign up and try out their facilities, and wanted the flyer to draw attention to this offer.
We reviewed Utopia’s design brief for the flyer to ensure we clearly understood the sort of design Utopia wanted us to create. We conducted a brainstorming session and developed design and layout ideas that we thought would capture the style Utopia wanted. We sourced and compiled a shortlist of high-quality images of young people in various gymnastics postures. We collected and reviewed similar themed flyer designs for inspiration.
We used Utopia’s brand colours as the basis for our colour scheme for the flyer. We experimented with several images of gymnasts, before selecting an image of a young gymnast practicing on the horizontal bar as the centrepiece in the layout of the flyer. We placed Utopia’s logo on the top left, and we placed Utopia’s telephone number, email contacts, and Facebook and Instagram addresses below the image. On the back side of the flyer, we presented images of children dancing and having fun paired with a list of Utopia’s services. We used Utopia’s brand colours to create coloured frames around the images, and presented a call to action at the bottom, prompting viewers to visit Utopia’s website and register their interest for a free taster session at Utopia Wakefield.
We finalised several ideas for our flyer design and presented these design drafts to Utopia for their review. They suggested a few minor layout revisions. We refined the flyer design based on Utopia’s feedback and presented them with the final design for their approval. Once approved, we send the final flyer design to Utopia in a digital file ready to be sent to print.
