Utopia Gymnastics

A Yorkshire based dance and gymnastics club for children.

Utopia are a dance and gymnastics club for children of all ages. Based in West Yorkshire, with facilities in Brighouse and Wakefield, they specialise in pre-school and recreational gymnastics for girls and boys. They lead beginner-friendly dance and gymnastic classes organised along age groups, from parents and toddler open play sessions to artistic gymnastics to a competitive level for more experienced gymnasts. Their facilities include high quality Gymnova gymnastics equipment, dance areas, and baby and toddler soft play areas. They also offer party hire gymnastics events, a café and a shop onsite where they sell their own branded Utopia clothing, including leotards, bags, t-shirts, and tracksuits.

At their gymnasiums in Brighouse and Wakefield, they offer gymnastics coaching sessions from beginners to advanced, delivered by friendly, experienced, and fully qualified coaches.

When we first met with Utopia, they were based in Brighouse and were in the process of opening their second location in Wakefield. They also expressed ambitions to grow the business and expand their services further. They were looking for a team of graphic designers to work on their rebranding project. During our consultation with their directors, Utopia informed us that they were no longer happy with their existing branding. They felt it was not capturing what Utopia wanted the company’s brand to express. They wanted to revisit the company’s vision and create a new and improved brand identity. In particular, they expressed that they wanted their branding to appeal more directly to children and young people. Existing branding did not have the impact they wanted.

Initially, they traded under the name ‘Utopia Gymnastics,’ but as the business has grown and they now offer more services, they wanted to drop ‘Gymnastics’ and rebrand the company as ‘Utopia’. Utopia wanted us to work on a series of design projects for their rebrand and for the opening of their second location. This included designing a new logo, exterior design and branding for their new Wakefield gym, and a range of marketing materials to promote the opening, including a suite of branding promotional social media posts, branded flyers, and poster designs. We worked out a timetable for delivery with Utopia, so that we had a clear idea of deadlines and priorities and to ensure we delivered the projects on schedule.

We discussed Utopia’s deadlines and worked out a timetable to ensure all projects were delivered on time and that we delivered the projects in order of priority. Beginning with the rebrand and exterior design for their second location in Wakefield, and finishing with poster designs and flyer designs advertising the opening of Utopia Wakefield. We maintained regular contact with Utopia throughout the design process to keep them up to date and to encourage their feedback to ensure they were happy with our designs.

What They Said

“Gold Rabbit did a fantastic job with our rebrand project. They were quick to understand what we were looking for. They listened, and they really kept us informed throughout the project. We love the new logos, and the exterior design for our Wakefield gym is just how we wanted it. Gold Rabbit are a delight to work with. If you’re looking for talented Graphic Designers for a design or branding project, I can highly recommend Gold Rabbit!”
